Pioneers rally with 9 unanswered runs for season's first win

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- The Tusculum Pioneers scored five runs in the seventh inning as TU rallied to a 9-5 win Sunday night over Palm Beach Atlantic in college baseball action.

Sunday was the completion of Friday's suspended game which was halted due to rain with the Sailfish leading 4-0 in the middle of the fourth inning.

PBA added to its lead in the bottom of the fifth when Sebastian Salado singled home Houck as the Sailfish led 5-0.

The Pioneers (1-2) scored their first runs of the game in the top of the sixth inning when Alvaro Valdez blasted a two-out, two-run homer down the right field line to cut the deficit to 5-2.

All five of TU's runs in the seventh inning came with two outs including a RBI double by Fuzzy Furr and a game-tying two-run double from Jaden Steagall. Luis Ezra scored from third base on a wild pitch for the go-ahead run and Steagall plated the fifth run on the frame thanks to a PBA fielding error.
