Heavy rain has forced the postponement of all semifinal matches
scheduled for Friday in the South Atlantic Conference Men's and
Women's Tennis Championship, hosted by Brevard College.
The tournament schedule has been pushed back one day by the
postponement, resulting in Tusculum College's men's and Women's
semifinal matches being played on Saturday.
The Pioneer women, who are the number-two seed in the field, will
play third-seeded Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday at 9
a.m. Queens defeated sixth-seeded Coker 5-1 in a first-round
matchup on Thursday.
The top-seeded Pioneer men will face fifth-seeded Newberry in the
semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. Newberry earned a 5-2 win over
fourth-seeded Anderson in Thursday's first-round action.
In the other semifinals, the top-seeded Wingate women will play
Newberry at 9 a.m. Saturday while the second-seeded Wingate men
will face Queens at 1 p.m.
The championship matches will be played on Sunday at Brevard, with
the Women's match beginning at 9 a.m. and the men's match at noon.
The winners will earn an automatic bid to their respective NCAA
Division II Tennis Championship.
