Rain postpones SAC Tennis semifinal matches to Saturday
BREVARD, N.C. ---

Heavy rain has forced the postponement of all semifinal matches scheduled for Friday in the South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Championship, hosted by Brevard College.

The tournament schedule has been pushed back one day by the postponement, resulting in Tusculum College's men's and Women's semifinal matches being played on Saturday.

The Pioneer women, who are the number-two seed in the field, will play third-seeded Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday at 9 a.m. Queens defeated sixth-seeded Coker 5-1 in a first-round matchup on Thursday.

The top-seeded Pioneer men will face fifth-seeded Newberry in the semifinals on Saturday at 1 p.m. Newberry earned a 5-2 win over fourth-seeded Anderson in Thursday's first-round action.

In the other semifinals, the top-seeded Wingate women will play Newberry at 9 a.m. Saturday while the second-seeded Wingate men will face Queens at 1 p.m.

The championship matches will be played on Sunday at Brevard, with the Women's match beginning at 9 a.m. and the men's match at noon. The winners will earn an automatic bid to their respective NCAA Division II Tennis Championship.
