Pioneers take a commanding lead at Dibble Intercollegiate

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum posted back-to-back team scores of 278 to card a 12-under par total 556 to take the 36-hole lead at the 30th annual Bob Dibble Intercollegiate Men's Golf Tournament. The two-day, 54-hole tournament is hosted by the Pioneers and held at the par-71, 6,701-yard Link Hills Country Club.

Tusculum leads by 17 strokes over second place Roane State (573) and are 20 shots clear of the Tusculum B team. All five members of the Tusculum A team are currently in the top-10 as the Pioneers' 556 is the third-lowest 36-hole school in school history and the lowest two-round total ever carded by a TU team at Link Hills (previous best was 563 at the Tusculum Fall Classic on three separate occasions).

Roane State's Caleb Tipton has the first day lead as he sits atop the leaderboard at 70-67=137 (-5). Liam Hermansson (67-71=138) of the Tusculum B team is tied for second place at minus-4 with King University's Asmund Norum (68-70=138).

Tusculum A's Liam van Deventer (68-71=139) and Blake Williams (72-67=139) are tied for fourth place at three-under par. The Tusculum A duo of Dominic Barron Holden (68-72=140) and Cole Haygood (71-69=140) are tied for sixth place at two-under par, along with Ian Kinsey (69-71=140) of Walters State.

Tusculum freshman Morgan Cain posted back-to-back rounds of even par 71 for his 36-hole total of 142 and is tied for 10th place. Cain's second round saw him open with a 40 on his outward nine, but bounced back with a four-under par 31 to get back to level par for the tournament.

King is in fourth place with 583, while Milligan sits in fifth with 585. Walters State is sixth with 590, followed by Virginia Union (594), King B (601), Milligan B (612), Mars Hill (632) and Pellissippi State (667).

Isak Holter is tied for 15th place with 71-74=145 for Tusculum B. Hunter Hartman is 20th with 76-72=148, Marinus Jeebe is 23rd with 74-75=149 and Lawson Harkey (80-73=153, T34) rounds out the scoring for Tusculum B.

Playing as individual competitors, Tusculum's Liam Colohan is 38th with 77-77=154, Dylan Side is 54th with 83-81=164 and Ryland Chaney is tied for 56th place with 84-81=165.

Tuesday's final round will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at Link Hills.
