Pioneers host 30th annual Bob Dibble Intercollegiate this week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team will host the 30th annual Bob Dibble Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club.

The two-day, 54-hole event moves to the fall as Tusculum welcomes teams representing three states including Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. Teams competing include: Tusculum, King, Mars Hill, Milligan, Pellissippi State, Roane State, Virginia Union and Walters State.

Monday is scheduled for 36 holes with all teams teeing off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The final 18 holes will be contested on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start as well.

The Pioneers have won this event on 12 occasions including: 1995, 1997, 1998, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022.

A Tusculum golfer has claimed medalist honors at this event on seven occasions with the last coming in 2021. Past Pioneers to medal at the Dibble Intercollegiate include: Todd Watson (1994), Tim Johnson (1997), Kevin Broyles (1998), Nick Kinzer (2006), Darren Christie (2007), Chris Wynne (2008) and Liam van Deventer (2021).

The Dibble Intercollegiate is named in honor of longtime Tusculum head coach Bob Dibble, who served as Pioneer skipper for 28 seasons. Coach Dibble is a member of the Tusculum Sports Hall of Fame, South Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame and the Tennessee Golf Association Hall of Fame.

Admission to the tournament is free and open to the public.
