ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College junior Pauline Muiruri has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the week following her performance at last Saturday's Hagan Stone Classic.

Muiruri led TC to its second-straight runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter Division II meet at Redmon Park in Kernersville, North Carolina. The Eldoret, Kenya native posted a season-best time of 21:59.67 to earn her season-best finish of third.

Muiruri has been the Pioneers' top finisher in their last two events and she owns a career-best 5K time of 18:58.38. It is her first career SAC Runner of the Week honor.

Muiruri and the rest of the Tusculum harriers will be back in action on Friday at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina.
