GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College head
cross country coach Cory Pratt has announced the signing of Makenzi
Alley of Cincinnati, Ohio as a member of the Pioneers women's cross
country team's 2015 signing class.
Alley comes to Tusculum after earning two letters at Oak Hills
High School under the direction of head coach Shellie Hageman. She
owns a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 19:58. Alley also earned
letters on the Highlanders' basketball, swimming and track
teams.
"Makenzi is a well-rounded young athlete," said Pratt. "She
picked up distance running later than our other signees, but what
she has been able to learn in a short amount of time is impressive.
When she adds experience and training to her talent, she has the
chance to be a special runner at Tusculum."
Alley joins early signees Mackenzie Newsome and Lindsey Mank
along with Ashley Andrukonis of Greeneville, Tennessee, Deondra
Thomas of Columbia, Tennessee, and Lillian Wallace of Memphis,
Tennessee to make up the Pioneers' incoming class.
Tusculum is scheduled to compete in five regular season meets
this season beginning on September 4th at the Catawba/Chick-Fil-A
Invitational in Salisbury, North Carolina. The South Atlantic
Conference Championship will take place on October 24th in Ewing,
Virginia while the NCAA II Southeast Regional will be held in
Wingate, North Carolina on November 7th.
