Cross Country inks J?Quen Johnson
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College head cross country coach Cory Pratt has announced the signing of J'Quen Johnson of Gallatin, Tennessee as a member of the Pioneers men's cross country team's 2015 signing class.

Johnson will wear the orange and black after lettering four years at Gatlin High School under the direction of head coach Jason Frech. He is a three-time member of the All-County team and crossed the line with a career-best finish of fourth in the district meet as a sophomore and a senior.

Johnson also is a three-time letterman in basketball and earned two letters in track and field. On the track, he recorded a runner-up finish at the regional event and third place in the district competition in his senior campaign. Johnson personal-best times include 17:30 in the 5,000-meter, 4:49 in the 1,600 meter, and 2:10 in the 800-meter.

"I'm looking forward to J'Quen joining our men's program this fall," Pratt stated. "His talent has a high ceiling, and his skill set will translate well to the 8K races at the collegiate level. He will make many positive contributions to our program and the Tusculum community during his time here."

Johnson joins Brandon Laws of Sevierville, Tennessee and Will Noel of Asheville, North Carolina as members of the Pioneers' incoming class.
Tusculum is scheduled to compete in five regular season meets this season beginning on September 4th at the Catawba/Chick-Fil-A Invitational in Salisbury, North Carolina. The South Atlantic Conference Championship will take place on October 24th in Ewing, Virginia while the NCAA II Southeast Regional will be held in Wingate, North Carolina on November 7th.
