Tusculum runners establish personal bests at NCAA Regional

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Tusculum's David Cooper finished 79th as six Pioneers competed at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Cross Country Championship, Saturday morning at McAlpine Park. Cooper was the top men's runner for the Pioneers while three members of the TC women's squad each accounted for personal bests at the regional meet.

Cooper, who has been Tusculum's top runner in all six meets this fall, finished the 10,000-meter race with a time of 34:14.3. Kekona Soon finished in 37:32.8 to place 145th, while Elijah Minter recorded a time of 42:43.3 (169th).

Jenny Grant led the Tusculum women with her 6K career-best time of 27:24.8 to place 156th in the regional final. Also recording personal bests were Lakesa Hendrix at 27:56.6 (162nd) and Ashley Gregg at 29:27.5 (177th).
