MARYVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College's Simon Holzapfel recorded his fourth consecutive individual title by winning the Maryville College Invitational Saturday morning. The Pioneers finished second in the men's race, while the TC women posted a third place showing.

The winning streak continues for Holzapfel as he wins his school record 14th career individual championship with a time of 26:10 on the 8,000-meter course.

TC's Ryan Badertscher posted an outstanding race with a fourth-place finish with 30:19. Stephen Kinunda recorded a time of 31:38 to finish 14th, while Ben Hale tallied a 17th place showing with his time of 32:56. Chad Shelton (33:50) and Nathan Carver (34:36) finished 18th and 21st, respectively, while Jason Seaton (39:41) placed 43rd.

In the women's meet, Tusculum's Ariana Sigmon recorded a top 10 finish, placing ninth with a 6K time of 30:04. Jenny Grant finished 11th with a time of 30:18, while Kim Brown tallied a time of 31:29 to place 16th. Ashley Andrukonis (31:45) and Jessica Figler (33:00) rounded out the scoring finishing 18th and 23rd, respectively.

Covenant College won the men's meet with 25 points, followed by Tusculum (48), Gordon College (89), Bluefield College (106), Maryville (110), LaGrange College (146) and Johnson Bible College (DNS).

In the women's meet, Covenant completed the sweep of the team titles with 53 points, edging out second place Spelman College. Tusculum finished third with 77 points, followed by Maryville (113), Bluefield (143), Johnson Bible College (143), LaGrange (185) and Gordon College (DNS).

The Pioneers return to action in two weeks when travel to Gray, Tenn. for the Trailblazer Invitational.
