BELMONT, N.C. --- Tusculum College's Simon Holzapfel finished third at the 2007 Belmont Abbey Invitational Saturday morning. Holzapfel posted a time of 28:33 on the 8,000-meter layout as the Pioneers finished sixth in the team competition.
Holzapfel, a freshman from Germany, was the top runner for the Pioneers and to finisher of the 23 South Atlantic Conference runners that competed (Tusculum, Mars Hill, Catawba and Carson-Newman).

Tusculum's Donald White finished 25th with a time of 31:24, while Ben Hale placed 35th with his 33:04 time. Jason Seaton (38:03) and Conner Graves (42:16) finished 46th and 47th, respectively.

Tusculum returns to action on Thursday when the Pioneers run at the Erskine Invitational.
