KING CROSS COUNTRY SWEEPS TUSCULUM INVITATIONAL

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The King College cross country team captured both the men and Women's titles at the 2007 Tusculum College Invitational, held Saturday morning at the Greene Valley Development Center.

In the women's meet, King had seven of its runners finish in the top 10 as the Tornado posted 22 points. Host Tusculum was second with 51 points, while Tennessee Wesleyan College placed third with 61 total points, led by Laura Womac, who won the individual title with a time of 18:61.1. King had runners finish second through fifth including Amy Wallace (18:23.2), Carrie Nelson (18:39.5), Helania Masters (18:42.4) and Solange Adams (18:43.8).

Tusculum's Brooke Underwood finished sixth with a time of 18:55.7, followed by teammate Alicja Dembna in seventh with 18:56.5.

In the men's meet, King had six of the top seven finishers, including Daniel Hamilton, who placed first with a time of 27:48.9 on the 8,000-meter course. Tusculum rookie Simon Holzapfel finished second with 27:52.6, followed by King's Jeremy Faulk (27:55.2), Derrick Parker (28:02.2) and Joseph Pair (29:13.7) to round out the top five.

Tennessee Wesleyan finished second in the team competition with 50 points, while the Tusculum men didn't score.

Tusculum's Donald White placed 10th with a time of 31:36.1 to round out the top 10 finishers.
