INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum Pioneers are listed as a team under consideration with the release of the initial 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Southeast Region rankings.
The teams currently under consideration have not been placed in any rank order at this time. The teams will not be put in a rank order until next Wednesday (Nov. 8). The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections on Nov. 20.
The Southeast Region consists of volleyball programs from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt Conference.
Listed alphabetically in this week's Southeast Region rankings are Anderson, Augusta, Emmanuel, Lander, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mount Olive, North Greenville, Tusculum, USC Aiken and Wingate.
Each league in the Southeast Region will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament while five at-large teams will comprise the eight-team Southeast Regional which will be held Nov. 30 – Dec. 3 at campus sites.
Entering the week, Tusculum owned a 14-5 in-region record and were 15-6 overall against NCAA II competition. The Pioneers have a 12-3 league record and are currently fourth in the SAC standings.
Tusculum will be on the road this weekend for a pair of SAC matches. TU will be at Newberry on Friday, followed by Saturday's league tilt at Lenoir-Rhyne. TU will close out the regular season next Wednesday (Nov. 8) when they host Mars Hill.
