Women's Volleyball to hit court twice

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's volleyball team will host Lincoln Memorial for the home-opener on Tuesday (Mar. 9) and will travel to Catawba for a Friday night showdown on March 12.

RECAPPING THE WEEK
Tusculum (0-1, 0-1 SAC) last played on February 25, dropping the season opener at Lenoir-Rhyne in straight sets.

Freshman Peyton Gash and Emiah Burrowes powered the TU offense with eight kills apiece. Raven Chance, in her collegiate debut, racked up six kills on a .333 clip. Gabby Gray (4), Carli Pigza (4), and Kyndall Kalb (3) rounded out the column. Elise Carmichael had over half of the team's assist with 16, while Carly Sosnowski and Catherine Clingan had six and five, respectively. Sosnowski was also responsible for the Pioneers' lone ace. Burrowes and Clingan dug up 11 attempts, with Sosnowski close behind with eight. Chance used her height at the net and was credited with four total blocks (one solo, three assists). Gray (one solo, one assist) and Burrowes (two assists) notched a pair as well.

Chance's 1.33 blocks per set is eighth across Division II.

LOOKING AHEAD
Lincoln Memorial (1-1, 1-1 SAC) will play its first road match of the season when it journeys to Greeneville. Gabriela Abreu heads up the Railsplitter attack with 21 kills, followed by Haley Brown and Kristen Moehring with 17 each. Emily Walter and Finley Sims split time as the setter, dishing out 42 and 32 assists, respectively. Yileen Ng He has landed a team-best five aces. Abreu's 34 digs is just behind 41 by Sarah Jones. Ng He is credited with eight total blocks, including LMU's lone solo block.

Catawba (1-1, 1-1 SAC) has its third-straight road match upcoming before hosting the Pioneers in the home opener. Jade Brooks has been the biggest offensive threat with 23 kills, but three others have registered 17 kills: Arianna Colon, Allison Bryant, and Ashley Johnson. Claire Kellum is averaging 8.22 assists per set for a total of 74. Four Catawba Indians have a pair of aces: Colon, Malia Carr, Gabriella Kuzma, and Kylie Morgan. Defensively, Carr leads the dig column with 50, ahead of 33 by Kellum. Johnson and Raytchelle Miranda have been credited with nine total blocks each, exactly one per set.

ATTENDANCE POLICIES
Catawba has instituted that fans outside of those on the respective Catawba team's pass list will not be permitted at its home indoor events.
