Madison Shumaker signs with Tusculum Volleyball
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Madison Shumaker of Riner, Virginia became one of the first members of the Tusculum College Volleyball team's 2015 signing class after signing with the Pioneers back in the most recent early signing period.
Shumaker is a 5-9 outside hitter out of Auburn High School. She led the Eagles to three-straight Virginia High School Coaches Association state titles and has been honored as the West Conference 45 Player of the Year, the Virginia High School League Player of the Year and the Southwest Region Player of the Year. Shumaker was also named to the VHSCA All-State Team and was named a VHSL All-State performer.

Shumaker played for the River Valley Juniors club team and averaged 2.43 kills per set between two seasons. She tallied 428 total kills in 176 sets and had 396 digs, including 299 during the 2014 campaign. She also had 49 service aces and 25 blocks. Off the court, Shumaker carried a 4.0 GPA and was named to the honor roll and was a member of National Beta Club, FFA, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

"We are really looking forward to getting Madison on the court with us this fall," said Robinson. "Not only does she posses a strong offensive skill set, but she also has great ball control. She is an aggressive player who brings an outstanding amount of passion on to the court."

Tusculum will be looking to build off its ninth-straight winning season and its fourth place finish in the South Atlantic Conference in 2014. The Pioneers return two All-SAC performers from last season and a pair of seniors.
