ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College senior Gina Coffaro has been named to the 2009 All-South Atlantic Conference Second Team announced league officials Thursday. Coffaro was tabbed to the All-SAC Second Team, while rookies Sam Underwood and Bailee Price were named to the SAC All-Freshman Team.

Coffaro, a 5-11 right-side hitter from Cincinnati, Ohio, has enjoyed an outstanding season, leading the Pioneers, averaging 2.89 kills and 3.86 digs per set. She is currently fifth in the league kills and ninth in digs. Coffaro recorded a double-double on 12 occasions, including seven of her last 10 matches. The Seton High School graduate has tallied double-digit kills 17 times and double-figure digs 19 times. Coffaro has recorded a .236 hitting percentage to go along with 30 service aces. Earlier this season, Coffaro was named the SAC Player of the Week.

Underwood, a 6-0 outside hitter/middle blocker from Muncie, Ind., ranked eighth in the league with her .273 hitting percentage, including .377 in her last five contests. The Cowan HS product is averaging 2.17 kills and 2.5 digs per set. Underwood has accounted for 28 service aces and 0.50 blocks per set this season. She accounted for six double-doubles this year.

Price, a 5-9 outside hitter from Fort Wayne, Ind., is averaging 2.35 kills and 3.17 digs per set in her first collegiate season. The Northrop High School graduate has been credited with seven double-doubles this season, while recording 35 service aces. In her last six matches, Price is averaging 3.7 digs per set.

Tusculum (18-13) is hosting this weekend's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament and will face fourth-seeded Catawba College on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal match at Pioneer Arena. The fifth-seeded Pioneers swept the two regular season matches with the Catawba Indians.

Presentation of the All-Conference awards will take place immediately following the Tusculum/Catawba match on Friday.
