The 25 victories by the Pioneers are the most for the school in the last 10 years since Tusculum became a NCAA Division II member.
Senior Vivian Lacy led the charge with 15 kills, nine digs and a .324 hitting percentage, while freshman Katie Luebke recorded 14 kills and three block assists. Senior setter Mariana Rezende dished out 43 assists in her final match at Pioneer Arena, while junior middle blocker Kelsey Hayden accounted for a .391 hitting percentage (11-2-23) and a game-high six blocks.
Senior libero Alexis Rowles added 18 more digs to her school record tally of 2,082 for her career.
King (21-13) was led by Ryann Tillman and Morgan Machen who finished with a dozen kills each. Daria Wilson added 15 digs, while Katie Fleming recorded 20 assists and a match-high six service aces in the loss.
It was the final home match for Rowles, Lacy and Rezende. This senior group has led Tusculum to back-to-back 20-win campaigns and the program's best finish in the South Atlantic Conference (4th in 2006; 2nd in 2007).
Tusculum returns to action on Friday when the Pioneers face Carson-Newman in a quarterfinal match of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament. That match is slated for 3:30 p.m. at Holt Fieldhouse.
