INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College
volleyball team continues to lead the nation in blocking according
to this week's NCAA Division II statistics announced College
officials Thursday.
The Pioneers (22-9, 10-3 South Atlantic Conference) are averaging
3.20 blocks per game. Tusculum is also 14th in the country with its
.261 hitting percentage, which is second in the SAC.
Individually, junior Kelsey Hayden (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is
third in the nation in blocking, averaging 1.57 blocks per game,
while Vivian Lacy (Palm Bay, Fla.) is 10th with her 4.71 kills per
game.
Tusculum has already clinched to finish second in the SAC, its
best finish ever since joining the league in 1998. The Pioneers
close out league play on Friday night at Lenoir-Rhyne College for a
7 p.m. match.
