HAYDEN, PIONEERS TOPS IN NCAA BLOCKING
INDIANAPOLIS --- Kelsey Hayden and the Tusculum College volleyball team leads the nation in blocks according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics announced College officials.
Hayden, a 6-2 junior from Colorado Springs, Colo., is averaging 1.67 blocks per game, which is best in the nation. She has recorded 125 blocks (37 solos, 88 assists) in her 75 games this season.
Senior outside hitter Vivian Lacy (Palm Bay, Fla.) is ninth in the country averaging 4.8 kills per game. Lacy, a two-time South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week and AVCA National Player of the Week, has posted 485 kills in her 101 games this season.
As a team, Tusculum continues to lead the nation in blocking, averaging 3.31 per game. Tusculum is also boasting the eighth-best hitting percentage in the land (.267).
The Pioneers (20-8, 8-2 SAC) return to action on Tuesday when they host Mars Hill College for a 7 p.m. match.
