TEMPE, Ariz. --- The Tusculum University women's tennis team is 40th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II national rankings, through matches of April 7.
The Pioneers beat Mars Hill 7-0 last Tuesday and fell 6-1 to South Atlantic Conference champion Wingate on Saturday in their two matches last week.
Wingate has climbed to sixth in the ITA Division II rankings this week, and is joined in the Top 50 this week by Lenoir-Rhyne (27th), Newberry (31st), Limestone (32nd), Tusculum and Catawba (47th). Pioneer non-conference opponents that are ranked this week are North Georgia (3rd), Charleston (35th) and Georgia College (43rd).
Tusculum (12-6, 6-3 SAC) beat Carson-Newman 4-3 on Tuesday to take over sole possession of fourth place in the conference with three matches remaining in the regular season.
