Pioneers beaten on road by 18th-ranked Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- Flagler College swept all six singles matches from Tusculum University as the 18th-ranked Saints earned a 7-0 victory Thursday morning.

The Saints (6-3) did not lose a set in singles against the Pioneers (5-4) to improve their winning streak to four matches. Tusculum, which was playing its first match since Feb. 22, had its two-match winning streak come to an end.

Flagler captured the doubles point by winning all three matches, including a 6-3 win by Addie Breunich and Charlotta Buss over Ylva Frafjord Landa and Paulina Loretz at flight three.

In singles play, the Saints did not lose more than three games in any set against the Pioneers. Landa fell 6-2, 6-3 at flight five to Laura Jipescu and Valentina Loretz dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision at flight six to Buss.

Tusculum will return home to face 15th-ranked Newberry in a South Atlantic Conference match on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
