GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College
women's tennis team is listed 36th in the latest Intercollegiate
Tennis Association National rankings. TC moves up three spots from
the previous polls that were released in November 2014 following
the fall season.
The Pioneers improved their standing in the national polls
despite still waiting to begin the 2015 season after their first
four scheduled matches have been cancelled or postponed due to
winter weather. TC is also ranked seventh in the latest ITA
Southeast Region rankings that were released last week.
Armstrong State University is ranked first in the poll
followed by Barry University, the defending national champions. The
Pirates are the top ranked team in the SE Region. (Complete

campaign. The Pioneers won three matches by 9-0 sweeps, and the
other two victories were by 8-1 margins. Three of Tusculum's wins
came against regional foes Lees-McRae and North Greenville, and SAC
rival Mars Hill University.
The Pioneers are scheduled to open the 2015 season this Friday
(March 6) at home against Lenoir-Rhyne.
