SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The Tusculum College women's tennis team didn't drop a set en route to blanking host Converse College 9-0 Thursday afternoon at the Rose Physical Activity Complex.
With the victory, the Pioneers improve to 10-8 overall, while the Valkyries fall to 4-12 on the season.
Tusculum swept the three doubles matches, including an 8-1 pro-set victory by the No. 3 duo of Blake Thompson and Megan Buckmaster over Converse's Stella Ford and Becky Elam.
The Pioneers got six singles wins from Courtney Conley, Taylor Patterson, Kristen Keefer, Katie Hillis, Buckmaster and Thompson.
Tusculum returns home Sunday afternoon when they host Newberry College at 2 p.m. for the Pioneers' final South Atlantic Conference match of the year. The match will be Senior Day as Tusculum honors its lone senior, Blake Thompson in pre-match ceremonies at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
