Women's Tennis falls 8-1 at Lander

GREENWOOD, S.C. --- The Lander University women's tennis kept its record unblemished as the Bearcats defeated visiting Tusculum College, 8-1 Saturday afternoon.

Lander (4-0) swept all three doubles points, including an 8-4 pro set win by the No. 1 pairing of Auerlia Ruffat and Cayce Bradley over the TC duo of Katelyn Doss and Taylor Patterson.

Brandi Cordell, the No. 11 ranked player in the Southeast Region, won her match in straight sets (6-1, 6-0) over Doss at No. 1 singles.

Kristen Keefer accounted for Tusculum's lone point at No. 6 singles, as she defeated Melanise Newbold, 6-2, 3-6, 13-11.

Tusculum returns to action next Saturday when the Pioneers travel to Milligan College for a 1 p.m. match against the Lady Buffs.
