HARROGATE, Tenn. --- The Lincoln Memorial University women's tennis team posted a 5-4 South Atlantic Conference win over visiting Tusculum College Friday afternoon. LMU improves to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Tusculum (15-2, 6-1 SAC) has its nine-match winning streak snapped and suffers its first league loss in two years (18 straight matches).

LMU captured two of the three doubles matches, including and 8-4 win by the No. 1 pairing of Sofia Lopez Mimendi and Ann Indeherberge over Caroline Crowe and Katelyn Doss. TC posted a point at No. 2 doubles as Courtney Conley and Taylor Patterson defeated Mandy Mills and Amanda Horenkamp.

LMU won the match as Leah Donoff, Sofia Lopez Mimendi and Ann Indeherberge won their singles battles in straight sets. The TC trio of Blake Thompson, Megan Buckmaster and Crowe won the final three singles matches of the day.

Despite the loss, Tusculum can claim at least a share of its fifth SAC title by winning its remaining league match at Newberry College next Saturday. The Pioneers return to action on Tuesday as they host Stillman College for Senior Night beginning at 6 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
