HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- The Tusculum College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 shutout over Young Harris College Tuesday morning at Hilton Head Island. The Pioneers improve to 8-1 on the year, while the Mountain Lions fall to 2-14.

The No. 3 doubles pairing of Megan Buckmaster and Kristen Keefer knocked off YHC's Mary Beth Maxwell and Michelle Allen, 8-3 in pro sets.

In singles action, Katelyn Doss, Courtney Conley, Taylor Patterson, Caroline Crowe, Katie Hillis and Blake Thompson each won in straight sets for the Pioneers. For Thompson, it was her 14th straight singles victory, including eight in row this year.

Tusculum continues its Spring Break trip to South Carolina as the Pioneers take on 49th-ranked University of Charleston (W.Va.) for a 12:30 p.m. match on Wednesday.
