HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- Courtney Conley recorded a pair of points to lead the Tusculum College women's tennis team to an 8-1 win over East Stroudsburg University Monday morning at Hilton Head Island. With the victory, the Pioneers improve to 7-1 on the season, while East Stroudsburg falls to 5-3.

Tusculum captured two of the three doubles points as the No. 2 duo of Taylor Patterson and Conley posted an 8-2 pro set victory over ESU's Amanda Kaufman and Amy McGrath. Blake Thompson and Katie Hillis defeated Rebecca Lausch and Alexandra Santoro 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.

ESU's lone point came at No. 1 doubles as Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno edged TC's Caroline Crowe and Katelyn Doss, 9-8.

In singles action, the Pioneers swept all six matches, including three that went the distance. Conley opened singles play with a 6-1, 7-6 win over Kaufman at the top flight. Doss rebounded from her loss in doubles with a 3-6, 6-0, 13-11 win over D'Ambrosia at No. 2 singles. Kristen Keefer and Patterson both had to go three sets for their singles wins, while Megan Buckmaster and Caroline Crowe won in straight sets.

The Pioneers continue their Palmetto State swing with Tuesday's 8 a.m. match against Young Harris College.
