FLORENCE, S.C. --- The fourth-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team posted a 7-2 win over visiting Tusculum College Saturday afternoon at Kassab Courts on the FMU campus.
The Patriots improve to 7-0 on the season, while Tusculum (6-1) suffers its first loss of the year, ending the Pioneers' six-match winning streak.
FMU captured two of the three doubles points. The No. 1 doubles duo of Tereza Sykorova and Sabina Baberadova, the second-ranked pair in the nation, posted an 8-0 pro set win over Katelyn Doss and Caroline Crowe.
Tusculum captured the No. 3 doubles point as Kristen Keefer and Megan Buckmaster defeated Karine Augur and Kerry Hall, 8-3.
FMU captured five singles points, while Tusculum's Blake Thompson recorded a point at the sixth flight with her 6-0, 6-0 win over Rachel Rubin.
Tusculum will take on East Stroudsburg on Tuesday at 8 a.m. in Hilton Head Island, S.C. as the Pioneers continue their five-match road swing in the Palmetto State.
