Tusculum women blank Milligan, 9-0

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a 9-0 shutout over visiting Milligan College Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Pioneers remain undefeated on the season, improving to 4-0, while the Lady Buffs even their record at 2-2.

Tusculum swept all three double matches, including a win by the No. 3 doubles pair of Megan Buckmaster and Kristen Keefer, who defeated Heather Bell and Janie Mullins 8-2 in pro sets.

Tusculum also made a clean sweep in singles play as Katelyn Doss, Taylor Patterson, Courtney Conley, Caroline Crowe, Katie Hillis and Blake Thompson all one in straight sets.

The Pioneers are back in action this Thursday as they travel to Bristol, Tenn. to take on King College for a 2 p.m. match.
