ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Three Tusculum College women's tennis
players have been named to the 2008 All-South Atlantic Conference
Team announced league officials Friday. Bronwyn
Hartley and Jennifer Sparks were named to
the All-SAC First Team, while Katelyn Doss
garnered Second Team recognition.
Hartley, a senior from Beamsville, Ontario, Canada, posted a 15-5
regular season singles record, including 5-2 in league matches.
Bronwyn joins her sister Lauren on the All-SAC First Team. Lauren
is playing at No. 1 singles at Newberry College.
Sparks, a junior from Missouri City, Texas, earns her first
All-Conference accolade at Tusculum. Sparks played most of the
season at the top flight for the Pioneers, posting an 11-9 record.
Sparks and No. 2 doubles partner Amanda Pike went
16-5, including 6-1 in SAC contests.
Doss rounds out the list of Tusculum honorees on this year's
All-SAC squad. Doss, a freshman from Bristol, Va., had a stellar
rookie campaign, going 16-2 at the fourth flight and was a perfect
7-0 in SAC matches.
Tusculum (18-3) is ranked No. 37 in NCAA Division II and is the
second seed in this weekend's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference
Tournament, being held in Rock Hill, S.C.
