KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- After opening their South Atlantic Conference schedule with two victories, the Tusculum women's soccer team moved up three spots to seventh in the Southeast Region in the latest United Soccer Coaches region rankings, released Tuesday.
The Pioneers defeated Lincoln Memorial 1-0 at home last Wednesday, then scored twice in the last six minutes to knock off Lenoir-Rhyne 2-1 on the road on Saturday. The Bears had been ranked seventh in the region heading into Saturday's contest with the Pioneers.
The top four teams are unchanged in this week's survey, as Columbus State is followed by Carson-Newman, Limestone and Flagler. Belmont Abbey moved up to fifth, followed by North Georgia, Tusculum, Wingate, Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne.
A total of five South Atlantic Conference teams are included in this week's rankings, with three teams from the Peach Belt Conference and two from Conference Carolinas.
The United Soccer Coaches College Rankings are an indicator of week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for selection to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.
Tusculum (4-1-0, 2-0-0 SAC) will be on the road Wednesday for a SAC contest at Queens, beginning at 5 p.m.
