Kilgore named to NSCAA All-Southeast Region team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Tusculum College senior Olivia Kilgore has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Women's All-Southeast Region Team, as voted upon by the region's head coaches.

Kilgore was a third-team selection on defense after helping lead the Pioneers to a share of the South Atlantic Conference championship with an 8-2-1 conference record and a 10-5-3 overall mark. Her pick marks the 17th time in the last 18 seasons that Tusculum has had at least one player earn NSCAA All-Region honors, with a total of 36 All-Region honorees over that span.

Kilgore was a first-team All-SAC selection, marking the third consecutive year that she was recognized as an All-Conference performer. She led the Pioneers in scoring from her central defender position, with a goal and eight assists for 10 points. Seven of her eight assists came off set pieces, while her goal came directly off a corner kick in a 3-0 win over Concord on Sept. 2.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native was a four-year starter on defense for the Pioneers, and recorded five goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 72 career matches. Kilgore scored at least one goal in all four seasons at Tusculum, including two via penalty kick in 2014.

The 10 victories this season mark the 18th time in the 20-year career of head coach Mike Joy that the Pioneers have reached double figures in wins. Tusculum has had 19 consecutive non-losing seasons, and the SAC championship was the fifth in program history and the first since the 2004 season.
