BREVARD, N.C. --- Coneisha Waugh's goal in the 79th minute proved to be the difference in Tusculum's 3-2 South Atlantic Conference victory at Brevard Wednesday afternoon at the BC Soccer Field.

With the victory, the Pioneers even their overall record at 5-5-1 and go to 2-3-1 in conference play.

Brevard (3-5-1, 2-4-0 SAC) got on the board first in the 30th minute as Anita Maryskova scored her second goal of the year on a free kick following a Tusculum foul.

Brevard was whistled for a hand-ball infraction inside the penalty area, awarding Tusculum a penalty shot. Katja Andersson buried the shot for her fifth goal of the season to level the match at 1-1 in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, Carlie Thornber scored off a corner kick from Olivia Kilgore for her fourth goal of 2015 to give Tusculum its first lead of the afternoon.

Waugh added a badly needed insurance goal at the 78:03 mark of the match as Coneisha Waugh came up with the scoring header for her first goal of the year and a 3-1 Tusculum lead. The goal was assisted by Alex Valeri.

Brevard added a late goal from Alyssa Bois with 1:15 remaining in regulation but that was all the offense the Tornados could muster.

Tusculum won the shot battle by a 14-8 margin, while also having a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. Tusculum keeper posted her fourth win of the season as she went the distance while recording three saves.

The Pioneers return to Greeneville to host Coker for a 1:30 p.m. SAC match at Pioneer Field for Homecoming.
