ANDERSON, S.C. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals in an eight-minute span to secure a 4-1 South Atlantic Conference victory at Anderson University Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers (7-3-1, 3-1-0 SAC) got a penalty kick goal from senior Nikki Arthur in the 78th minute to break a 1-1 tie, while Shannele Sunderland and Taylor Lewis added insurance goals down the stretch to post TC's fourth road win of the season and its second straight 4-1 victory.

Tusculum senior Marissa Williams picked up her 35th career victory in goal, while establishing a new program record by playing in 5,816 career minutes, breaking the previous mark held by TC Sports Hall of Famer Jennie Murphy (5,810 from 1999-2002).

Following a scoreless opening half, Tusculum scored first when freshman Jordan Newby notched her first collegiate goal thanks to a back heel pass by Lewis at the 62:43 mark.

But less than a minute later Anderson's Lyssa Engle scored her league-leading ninth goal of the year, beating Williams to the left corner of the goal to even the match at 1-1.

At the 77:22 mark, Lewis was fouled in the box setting up Arthur's penalty kick, which she buried for her first goal of 2014 and a 2-1 Tusculum lead.

Sunderland recorded her fourth goal of the season as she took an Abby Van Bussum deflection and dribbled past the keeper to notch TC's third goal.

Lewis tallied her team-leading sixth goal of the year, which was assisted by Payton DeHart in the 86th minute to provide the final margin of victory.

Williams finished the match with six saves, giving her 290 for her career, which are two shy of the school record held by Murphy (292).

Tusculum out-shot the Trojans by a 15-10 margin and also owned a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Pioneers return home on Wednesday when they host Brevard College for a 5 p.m. South Atlantic Conference match.
