INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team is nationally ranked in three statistical categories according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics.

The Pioneers (5-1-1, 2-0-0 South Atlantic Conference) are fifth in the country with their .938 team save percentage. Tusculum is 15th in shutout percentage at .714 as the Pioneers have recorded five shutouts in its first seven matches of the season.

TC posted its fifth straight shutout on Monday night with a 1-0 win over King University. The Pioneers have not allowed a goal since the first half of its Sep. 7 match at Ashland University, a span covering 521 consecutive minutes.

Tusculum's 0.28 goals against average is listed 15th in the country and tops in the South Atlantic Conference as the Pioneers have allowed just two goals this year.

Senior goalkeeper Marissa Williams is listed sixth in the country in save percentage (.944) and ninth in goals against average (0.24). In her four starts, the Canton, Michigan native has posted three shutouts, while recording 17 saves in her 380 minutes in goal.

Tusculum will play its third contest in five days when the Pioneers host nationally-ranked Columbus State University this Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Cougars (4-0-1) are currently ranked fifth in the country according to the latest NSCAA Division II Poll.
