Head coach Mike Joy on the commitments:
"We are excited about our 2014 class. Our needs due to graduation
were many, as we graduated five talented players that all were
starters. We needed to address defense first as we were hit hard
with graduation. Last year we led the league in shutouts, but
knowing that defense was and always is the cornerstone of a program
we had to make sure to bring in some players that could complete
for us right away. I feel without a doubt we have signed a talented
group of defenders that will compliment our few returners and both
returning goalkeepers. We will still be young next year but we will
be very strong defensively.
"Last year our attack was not as prolific as we needed it to be,
thus our other emphasis with this recruit class was to bring in
some difference makers in the attack. I believe that we have signed
today some attacking players that will make that difference for us
next season. We have a strong group of returners, and with these
new additions we will hopefully have a very successful 2014
season."
