The Tusculum College Women's soccer team moved up one spot to
fifth in the Southeast Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches
Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's
regional rankings, through games of Sunday, October 14.
The Pioneers (11-1-2) boosted their unbeaten streak to 12 matches
with wins over Lincoln Memorial (3-2) and Catawba (1-0) last week.
The Pioneers have 10 wins and two ties since their only loss of the
season, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of East Stroudsburg on Sept. 2 in
their second game of the year.
Armstrong Atlantic (10-1-1) continues to lead the rankings,
followed by Columbus State (13-1-0) and Lenoir-Rhyne (11-1-0).
Lander (8-1-3) remains in fourth, followed by Tusculum, UNC
Pembroke (7-4-2) and Clayton State (7-5-2). North Georgia (10-3-1)
slipped from fifth to eighth in this week's rankings, with
Lees-McRae (8-3-1) and Flagler (7-4-3) rounding out the top 10.
Tusculum hosts Lenoir-Rhyne in a critical South Atlantic Conference
matchup Wednesday afternoon at 5 p.m. at Pioneer Field. The Bears
are 7-0-0 in the SAC this season with the Pioneers close behind at
6-0-1.
