The Tusculum College Women's soccer team is ranked sixth in the
Southeast Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association
of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's regional
rankings, through games of Sunday, October 7.
The Pioneers (9-1-2) saw their unbeaten streak reach 10 matches
with a 3-2 win at Carson-Newman on Wednesday and a 1-1 tie with
Newberry on Sunday at Pioneer Field. Tusculum's only loss this
season is a 2-1 setback on Sept. 2 to East Stroudsburg, which is
currently ranked sixth in the Atlantic Region.
The top three teams in the rankings remain unchanged for the second
week in a row. Armstrong Atlantic (8-1-1) continues on top followed
by Columbus State (10-1-0) and SAC member Lenoir-Rhyne (9-1-0).
Lander (7-1-3) moved up one spot to fourth, following a 2-0 win
over UNC Pembroke and a 1-1 tie with Clayton State, and North
Georgia (10-2-0) climbed a spot to fifth.
Following Tusculum are Clayton State (7-4-1) and Flagler (7-2-3) in
a tie for seventh place, Lees-McRae (7-3-1) in ninth and Catawba
(8-4-0) and UNC Pembroke (5-4-2) tied for tenth.
The Pioneers are on the road Wednesday afternoon for a 1 p.m. match
at Lincoln Memorial and are home Saturday at 5 p.m. against
Catawba.
