The Tusculum College Women's soccer team moved up one spot into
a tie for fifth in the Southeast Region in the latest National
Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA
Division II Women's regional rankings, through games of Sunday,
September 23.
The Pioneers (6-1-1) extended their unbeaten streak to six matches
with a pair of South Atlantic Conference victories last week,
defeating Mars Hill 3-2 in overtime on Thursday and downing
Anderson, at the time the 10th-ranked team in the region, on the
road by a 3-0 score on Saturday.
Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1-0) joins Tusculum from the SAC in the regional
rankings, moving up one spot this week from fourth to third. The
Pioneers are tied with Lander (4-1-2) for fifth in this week's
rankings.
Armstrong Atlantic (4-1-1) took over the top spot in this week's
rankings, followed by Columbus State (7-1-0), Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1-0)
and previously top-ranked North Georgia (7-1-0), which lost 3-2 to
Georgia College last week in its only match. Flagler (6-1-1) checks
in at seventh, followed by Georgia College (4-4-0), Montevallo
(4-3-1) and a tie for 10th between UNC Pembroke (3-2-1) and Clayton
State (5-3-0).
The Pioneers put their 2-0-0 SAC record on the line on Wednesday
evening when they host Brevard at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
