The Tusculum College Women's soccer team is sixth in the
Southeast Region in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association
of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's regional
rankings, through games of Sunday, September 16.
The Pioneers (4-1-1) tied regionally-ranked UNC Pembroke 0-0 last
Wednesday in their only match of the week. The shutout was the
fourth in a row for the Pioneers, who have not allowed a goal in
384 minutes, 2 seconds spanning their last five matches.
Joining Tusculum in the regional rankings from the South Atlantic
Conference are Lenoir-Rhyne (4-1-0) in fourth and Anderson (3-2-1)
in a tie for 10th.
North Georgia (7-0-0) climbed into first place in the region after
winning twice last week, and is followed by Armstrong Atlantic
(3-1-1), Columbus State (5-1-0), Lenoir-Rhyne and Flagler
(6-0-1).
The Pioneers will host Mars Hill in their SAC opener Thursday
afternoon at 4 p.m. at Pioneer Field in a match moved from
Wednesday due to wet field conditions.
