INDIANAPOLIS --- The No. 21 Tusculum College women's soccer team, having won 11 of its last 13 matches, are ranked third in this week's NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings announced NCAA officials Wednesday.
Tusculum (13-3-1, 6-1 SAC) remained third in the poll this week, staying ahead of Armstrong Atlantic State University and Catawba College.
Carson-Newman jumped into the top spot in the region this week with a 12-1-1 in-region record, moving ahead of Columbus State (13-1-1) who falls to second in the rankings. Tusculum (11-2-1) remains third, followed by Armstrong Atlantic (11-3-3), Newberry (13-2-1), and Catawba (10-3-2). Lander (9-3-2) and North Georgia (10-3-2) round out the top eight, while Wingate (9-3-3) and Georgia College & State (8-5-4) complete the 10-team listing.
Tusculum returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Pioneers host Tennessee Wesleyan College at Pioneer Field on senior night. The match is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. following the conclusion of the men's match against Carson-Newman.
