KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team is ranked 21st in the latest edition of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division II poll, moving up two spots from No. 23 after notching a 2-1 win over Wingate University on Saturday.
Tusculum (13-3-1, 6-1 SAC) has won 11 of its last 13 matches, compiling a 11-1-1 worksheet in that span to take over the top spot in the South Atlantic Conference standings, as well as a top-three listing in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll.
The Pioneers boast one of the top offensive units in the nation, led by freshman Tramicka James who tops TC in goals (10), assists (7) and points (27). Fellow freshmen attackers Kourtney Kavic and Kayla Durden have combined with James to net 21 of Tusculum's 40 goals this season, as the trio owns nearly half of the Pioneers' total points thus far with 56 combined markers.
This marks the third consecutive week the Pioneers have been ranked among the nation's top 25 teams, entering the poll two weeks ago at No. 21.
Tusculum returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Pioneers host Tennessee Wesleyan on Senior Night at Pioneer Field. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. after the conclusion of senior ceremonies and the men's match against Carson-Newman.
