KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Tusculum College Women's soccer team is ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation for the first time this season, entering the week as the No. 21 squad in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division II National poll, announced NSCAA officials Tuesday.
Tusculum (11-3, 4-1 SAC) has won nine of its last 10 matches, including a 3-2 victory over Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference play last Wednesday. The Pioneer attack features a trio of talented freshmen, including Tramicka James, the team's leading scorer with seven goals and six assists.
Fellow rookies Kayla Durden and Kourtney Kavic have also found the back of the net with regularity for TC this season, tallying six and four goals, respectively, while Michelle Meade and Courtney Turner are tied with James for the team lead with six assists.
Tusculum returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Pioneers host King College (Tenn.) at Pioneer Field. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
