Women's SOCCER ON THE ROAD THIS WEEK FOR TWO MATCHES

Vanessa Fyffe GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team enters the ninth week of the season riding a four-match winning streak after a 2-1 extra time victory at home against Catawba College on Saturday, improving to 9-5-1 overall and 4-2 in the South Atlantic Conference this season.

Senior forward Danielle Tanner has led the Pioneers in goals and points for the majority of the season, entering the week tied for the NCAA II lead with 42 points in 15 matches. The 5-7 forward scored both of TC's two goals against Catawba on Saturday, netting the match-winner in the opening seconds of the 99th minute after Catawba's keeper could not hold on to Michelle Meade's shot from distance. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Tanner currently leads the SAC with 18 goals and 42 points, and is tied for third with six assists.

Vanessa Fyffe has quietly put together a solid season in goal for the Pioneers, posting a 1.15 goals against average through 15 matches to rank fifth in the SAC. The junior goalkeeper recorded her first career shutout earlier this season against Lincoln Memorial (Sep. 24), making three saves in the 3-0 Tusculum victory. A native of Bellbrook, Ohio, Fyffe is currently fourth in the SAC in saves (47) and save percentage (.758).

The Pioneers are on the road for a pair of matches this week, as they travel to Bristol, Tenn. on Wednesday for a match against King College at 4:30 p.m. Tusculum then makes the trip to Wingate, N.C. for a SAC matchup against Wingate University on Saturday at 5 p.m.
