Wach named Tusculum women's lacrosse assistant coach

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Three-time All-South Atlantic Conference standout Claire Wach has been named the assistant women's lacrosse coach at Tusculum College announced TC head coach Jenna Handshoe.

Wach, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, played the last four seasons at SAC member Lenoir-Rhyne University where she guided the Bears to a 39-32 overall record, including three straight double-digit win seasons.

Her teams posted an impressive 19-3 mark in SAC play and finished runner-up in the conference regular-season and tournament finals on three occasions.  During her career, she established a league record 259 draw controls, as she led the SAC in that category in each of the last three seasons, including a conference-best 79 in each of her last two campaigns.

"We are excited to have Coach Wach joining our staff. Her experience within the conference will be a great asset to the program and helping us develop a top conference team," Handshoe said.  "Coach Wach brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy to the program. I am excited to see her implement her ideas into our offensive and transitional game. Having Coach Wach and her experience will elevate the level of our playing style."

"I am very honored and excited to join the women's lacrosse staff at Tusculum College," said Wach. "It's an exciting and humbling opportunity to learn and work alongside Coach Handshoe. The program has flourished since being a first-year program and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help it grow. I am also eager and looking forward to developing the student-athletes both on and off the field. I could not have done it without the support of my family, friends, and former coaches."
