GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University junior Nilubol Panno carded an opening round 74 to take the first day lead at the 25th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Women's Golf Tournament. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being host by Tusculum and held at the par-71, 5,843-yard Link Hills Country Club.
Emmanuel College leads the team competition as the Lions shot a Monday-best 311 and leads by six strokes over second place Christian Brothers (317). Defending champion Tusculum is in third place with 318, followed by Carson-Newman B (323), King University (329), Emory & Henry (332), Mars Hill (346) and Midway University (354).
Panno, the defending McAmis Memorial medalist, recorded two birdies, 12 pars, three bogeys and a double bogey for her round. She has a one shot lead over Carson-Newman's Madison Cline (75) and is two shots clear of Sarah Matkowski of Emannuel (76), who is in third. Rounding out the top-five individually are the Christian Brothers duo of Carla Kay Hickam and Laura Ortiz, along with Lisa Wahlqvist of King University as the trio each shot 77.
Tusculum freshman Reagan Padilla is tied for seventh place with 78, while teammate Adrienne O'Brien matched a season-low with an 81 and is tied for 15th. O'Brien overcame a 43 on her outward nine and closed out with a 38 including a birdie on No. 15. Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen and Lindsay Self both shot 85 and are tied for 26th place.
The final round of the McAmis Memorial will be played on Tuesday beginning with tee times at 10:30 a.m.
