Pioneers climb to 12th at Nichols Intercollegaite

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's golf team moved up one spot and is in 12th place after day two action of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the par-71, 5,803-yard Highlands Course at the Sevierville Golf Club and hosted by Tennessee Tech University.

The Pioneers posted a second round score of 322, a three-stroke improvement from Sunday as TU sits at 647 on the leaderboard after two days.

Tusculum's Nilubol Panno has a 36-hole total of 151 and is tied for 14th place. She dropped four spots on the leaderboard after posting a six-over par 77 on Monday.

TU's Reagan Padilla posted the best round of the day for the Pioneers. She carded a 76 for a second day in a row and climbed four spots and is tied for 16th place at 152.

North Alabama's Jacqueline Klemm has the second round lead with a two-under par total of 140 including Monday's 69. Klemm leads by three shots over North Georgia's Madeline Ananthasane (143) and is four shots clear of Gabby Woods (Findlay) and Tayler Dedmen (Austin Peay) who are tie for third place with 144. Woods made the biggest move of the day as she carded a 66 (-5) and improved by 30 spots and is in the hunt for the individual medal.

Austin Peay continues to lead the team competition as the Governors have a 36-hole total of 587 and have an eight-stroke lead over second place North Alabama (595). Findlay is third with 599, followed by Dayton (610), North Georgia (618), Dalton State (620), Oklahoma City (621), Radford (624), Carson-Newman (624), Indiana State (627), Bellarmine (632), Tusculum (647), Northern Iowa (651), Tennessee Tech (658) and Tennessee State (696).

Tusculum's Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen is 72nd with 88-83=171 as she improved her position by six spots. Adrienne O'Brien shot 87 for a second straight day to give her 174 (T75th). Lindsay Self improved by 15 shots as she shot 86 and is 82nd.

The teams will wrap up play with Tuesday's final round beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
