GREENWOOD, S.C. --- Tusculum University rookie Nilubol Panno carded a one-under par 71 and is tied for fifth place after the opening round of the 2021 Lady Bearcat Invitational. The Pioneers shot 303 and are fifth in the team competition.

The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at The Links at Stoney Point and hosted by Lander University.

Panno is one of eight golfers to shoot in red numbers on Monday and is three shots off the lead held by Limestone's Lena Schilowsky as she posted a four-under 68. Emily Ritchie of Lee University is one shot behind Schilowsky, while Ebba Hellman (Limestone) and Anna Freeman (Anderson) are tied for third with 70 (-2). There are three others players tied with Panno at 71 (-1).

Panno's 71 is a season-low for her and is tied for the 10th lowest 18-hole score in program history. Panno fired an opening round 72 at last week's Agnes McAmis Memorial at Graysburg Hills Golf Club.

Limestone has the day one lead with 283, seven shots ahead of second-place Anderson (290) and nine shots clear of third-place Flagler (292).
