TU women fourth after day one of Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- Tusculum University senior Jennifer Keim carded an opening round 75 and is in fourth place after day one of the 2021 Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being conducted at the 5,958-yard, par-72 Golf Club at South Hampton.

The Pioneers posted an aggregate score of 311 and are 20 shots out of the lead held by Wingate as the Bulldogs posted a team tally of 291. Mount Olive is second with 299, followed by Lincoln Memorial (307), Tusculum (311), Emmanuel (312), Barton (314), North Greenville (316), Christian Brothers (317), Belmont Abbey (319), Southern Wesleyan (322) and Newberry (335).

Keim overcame a slow start as she was four-over par after her first six holes. But she bounced back going one-under par for her final 12 holes including a birdie on her last hole of the day.

Mount Olive's Emma Leclercq shot a five-under par 67 and has the first round lead. She is two strokes ahead of Warissa Puangcharoen of Wingate (69) and three shots clear of LMU's Caitlyn Lindell (70).

TU's Nilubol Panno and Hannah Brown each shot 77 and are tied for 15th place. Junior Olivia Cunningham is tied for 41st with her 82, while senior Madison DeWees rounded out the TU scoring with 84 and is 46th.

The final round will be played on Tuesday.
