MONROE, N.C. --- Tusculum College sophomore Ciara Rattana carded a second round 75 and is tied for ninth place after the second round of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the Monroe Country Club and hosted by Wingate University.

The Pioneers shot a team score of 320 on Monday and climbed two spots up the leaderboard and are in sixth place with a two-day total 652. The 320 was a 12-shot improvement from Sunday's opening 332. I was also the fifth-best score of the day.

Queens University of Charlotte made the biggest move as the Royals shot 305 in the second round to take over first place heading into Tuesday's final round. Queens' 625 is six shots ahead of second place Carson-Newman University and 12 strokes better than third place Newberry College (637). Lincoln Memorial University is fourth with 638, followed by Wingate (639), Tusculum, Coker College (660), Anderson University (664), Lenoir-Rhyne University (667), Mars Hill University (682) and Brevard College (747).

Rattana, a two-time All-SAC first team honoree and 2015 SAC Freshman of the Year, is in a three-way tie for ninth place at 158 and is 11 shots off the lead held by Newberry's Nabila Inak who has a 36-hole total 147, including Monday's one-under par 71. Inak has a one-shot lead over 2016 SAC Player of the Year Grace Glaze of Queens (76-72=148).

Tusculum junior Taylor Lambertsen also carded a round in the 70s as she posted a 79 on Monday to move into a tie for ninth place with 160. All-SAC freshman Katie Tomassoni is tied for 34th place with 84-83=167, while senior Calley Lawson and freshman Taylor White are tied for 42nd place with two-day scores of 170.

Tuesday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the par-72, 5,981-yard Monroe Country Club layout.
